We are delighted to host the 7th annual Mass General Brigham (MGB) Cerebrovascular and Skull Base Symposium combined with the 2nd Congress for the Yaşargil Microneurosurgery Academy meeting on Wednesday, April 23 & Thursday, April 24, 2025, in Boston, MA. As in years past, we hope to continue our tradition of honest introspection on how we deliver neurosurgical care, make decisions, manage complications, build comraderies, and learn.

We continue to bring an enhanced focus on existing challenges and opportunities locally and globally, with a theme of “Global Expansion.” We anticipate an international cast of over 300 neurosurgical leaders in the fields of microneurosurgery, endovascular and stroke care, skull base surgery, and global health. We envision a dynamic discussion that will ignite ideas for how to improve future solutions.

DAY ONE of the Symposium will be held at The Westin Boston Seaport District, 425 Summer Street, Boston, MA 02210. It will be the 2nd Congress of the The Yaşargil Microneurosurgery Academy. The Yaşargil Microneurosurgery Academy is dedicated to the advancement and education of microneurosurgery, reaching out to the trainee and young neurosurgeons around the world.

DAY TWO of the Symposium will be held at The Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate, 210 Morrissey Blvd, Boston, MA 02125. Building on the mission of the Yaşargil Academy, Day Two will center on Global Health and Neurosurgical Expansion. This day will address critical issues such as access to careinnovative surgical techniques, and the role of education and training in improving outcomes for patients worldwide. We will explore how new technologies, global partnerships, and education initiatives can help overcome barriers to care, with a focus on equitable access for underserved populations. The day will include keynote presentations, panel discussions, and interactive sessions aimed at fostering collaboration among neurosurgeons, policymakers, and healthcare leaders.

The Boston Declaration: A Call to Action

The symposium will conclude with the signing of The Boston Declaration, a powerful statement of commitment to equitable access to neurosurgical care for all, regardless of geographic or economic barriers. This declaration will serve as a global call to action for neurosurgeons, healthcare leaders, and policymakers to prioritize innovation, education, and access to care in every corner of the world.

Please note that Day Two of the Symposium will be located at a different location:

The Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate 210 Morrissey Blvd, Boston, MA 02125
