This Privacy Notice for Jacently, LLC, doing business as Jacently (“Jacently,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), describes how and why we may access, collect, store, use, and share (“process”) personal information when you use our services (“Services”). This includes when you download and use the Jacently mobile application, use another application of ours that links to this Privacy Notice, or otherwise interact with us through related activities, marketing, or events.

1. What Information Do We Collect?
Personal information you disclose to us
In short: We collect personal information that you provide to us.
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you register for the Services, express an interest in our products or Services, participate in activities on the Services, or otherwise contact us.
The personal information we collect depends on your interactions with us and the Services, the choices you make, and the products and features you use. This information may include:
- Names
- Email addresses
- Usernames
- Passwords
Sensitive information. We do not process sensitive information.
Application data
If you use our application, we may collect additional information when you choose to provide access or permission.
Geolocation information. We may request access or permission to track location-based information from your mobile device, either continuously or while you are using the application, to provide location-based services. You can change these permissions in your device settings.
This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our application, for troubleshooting, and for internal analytics and reporting.
All personal information you provide to us must be true, complete, and accurate. You must notify us of changes to that information.
Information automatically collected
In short: Some information, such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address and browser or device characteristics, is collected automatically when you use our Services.
We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Services. This information does not reveal your specific identity, but may include device and usage information such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our Services, and other technical information.
This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Services and for internal analytics and reporting. Like many businesses, we may also collect information through cookies and similar technologies.
Device data. We may collect information about the computer, phone, tablet, or other device you use to access the Services, including IP address or proxy server, device and application identification numbers, location, browser type, hardware model, internet service provider or mobile carrier, operating system, and system configuration information.
Location data. We collect location data about your device, which may be precise or imprecise depending on the device and its settings. For example, we may use GPS and other technologies to collect geolocation data that tells us your current location. You can opt out by refusing access or disabling location permissions, although doing so may prevent certain features from working.
Google API
Our use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
2. How Do We Process Your Information?
In short: We process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, communicate with you, support security and fraud prevention, and comply with law. We may also process information for other purposes with your consent.
Depending on how you interact with our Services, we may process your personal information to:
- Facilitate account creation, authentication, and account management. We may process information so you can create and log in to your account and keep it in working order.
- Deliver and facilitate Services. We may process information to provide the services you request.
- Evaluate and improve our Services, products, marketing, and your experience. We may process information to identify usage trends, evaluate promotional campaigns, and improve our Services and user experience.
5. How Long Do We Keep Your Information?
In short: We keep personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Notice unless a longer period is required or permitted by law.
No purpose described in this notice requires us to keep your personal information longer than the period in which you have an account with us, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law, such as for tax, accounting, or other legal requirements.
When we no longer have an ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will delete or anonymize it. If deletion is not immediately possible, such as when information is stored in backup archives, we will securely store and isolate it from further processing until deletion is possible.
6. How Do We Keep Your Information Safe?
In short: We use organizational and technical security measures designed to protect personal information.
We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect the security of personal information we process. However, no electronic transmission over the internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
Although we work to protect personal information, transmission of information to and from our Services is at your own risk. You should access the Services only within a secure environment.
7. Do We Collect Information From Minors?
In short: We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age.
We do not knowingly collect or solicit data from, market to, or knowingly sell personal information belonging to children under 18. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18, or that you are the parent or guardian of a minor and consent to the minor dependent’s use of the Services.
If we learn that we have collected personal information from a user under 18, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to promptly delete the information from our records. If you become aware of data we may have collected from a child under 18, contact us at support@jacently.com.
8. What Are Your Privacy Rights?
In short: Depending on your country, province, or state of residence, you may be able to review, change, or terminate your account and exercise additional privacy rights.
Withdrawing consent. If we rely on your consent to process personal information, you may withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us using the details in Section 12. Withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of processing performed before withdrawal and, where applicable law allows, will not affect processing based on other lawful grounds.
Account information
You may review or change information in your account by logging in to your account settings and updating your account information.
If you request termination of your account, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from our active databases. We may retain certain information as necessary to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist investigations, enforce legal terms, or comply with legal requirements.

9. Controls for Do-Not-Track Features
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and applications include a Do-Not-Track (“DNT”) setting that can signal a preference not to have online browsing activities monitored and collected.
At this time, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. We therefore do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or other mechanisms that automatically communicate a choice not to be tracked online. If a standard is adopted that we are required to follow, we will describe that practice in a revised version of this Privacy Notice.
10. U.S. State Privacy Rights
In short: If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, or Virginia, you may have rights concerning the personal information we maintain about you. These rights may be limited in some circumstances by applicable law.

We may also collect other personal information outside these categories when you interact with us in person, online, or by phone or mail, including when:
- You receive help through our customer support channels;
- You participate in customer surveys or contests; or
- We facilitate delivery of the Services or respond to your inquiries.
Retention by category
We retain the following collected categories as needed to provide the Services:
- Category A: As long as the user has an account with us.
- Category B: As long as the user has an account with us.
- Category C: As long as the user has an account with us.
- Category G: As long as the user has an account with us.

How we use and share personal information
See Section 2 for information about how we use personal information and Section 3 for information about when and with whom we may share it.
We may disclose personal information to service providers pursuant to written contracts between us and those service providers.
We may use personal information for our own business purposes, such as internal research for technological development and demonstration. This is not considered “selling” personal information.
We have not disclosed, sold, or shared personal information with third parties for a business or commercial purpose in the preceding twelve months. We will not sell or share personal information in the future belonging to website visitors, users, and other consumers.
Your rights
Under certain U.S. state data protection laws, you may have rights including:
- The right to know whether we are processing your personal data;
- The right to access your personal data;
- The right to correct inaccuracies in your personal data;
- The right to request deletion of your personal data;
- The right to obtain a copy of personal data you previously shared with us;
- The right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights; and
- The right to opt out of processing for targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, or profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
Depending on your state, you may also have rights to:
- Access categories of personal data being processed;
- Obtain a list of categories of third parties to which we have disclosed personal data;
- Obtain a list of specific third parties to which we have disclosed personal data;
- Obtain a list of third parties to which we have sold personal data;
- Review, understand, question, and, where applicable, correct how personal data has been profiled;
- Limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal data; and
- Opt out of certain collection of sensitive data or personal data collected through voice or facial recognition features.
How to exercise your rights
To exercise applicable rights, submit a data subject access request, email support@jacently.com, or use the contact information in Section 12.
Under certain state laws, you may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We may deny a request from an authorized agent that does not provide proof of valid authorization as required by applicable law.
Request verification
When we receive a request, we may need to verify your identity to confirm that you are the person about whom we maintain information. We will use personal information provided with the request only to verify identity or authority to make the request. If we cannot verify your identity using information already maintained by us, we may request additional information for verification, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
If you submit a request through an authorized agent, we may need additional information to verify your identity, and the agent may need to provide written and signed permission from you.
Appeals
Under certain U.S. state data protection laws, if we decline to take action on your request, you may appeal our decision by emailing support@jacently.com. We will inform you in writing of action taken or not taken in response to the appeal, including an explanation of our decision. If your appeal is denied, you may submit a complaint to your state attorney general.
California “Shine the Light” law
California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits California residents to request and obtain from us, once per year and free of charge, information about categories of personal information, if any, disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes and the names and addresses of the third parties with which we shared personal information in the immediately preceding calendar year. California residents may submit such requests using the contact information in Section 12.
11. Updates to This Privacy Notice
In short: We may update this notice as necessary to stay compliant with relevant laws.
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The updated version will be identified by an updated revision date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we may notify you by prominently posting a notice or by sending you a direct notification. We encourage you to review this Privacy Notice periodically.

13. Review, Update, or Delete Your Information
Based on the laws applicable in your country or U.S. state of residence, you may have the right to request access to personal information we collect from you, receive details about how it has been processed, correct inaccuracies, delete personal information, or withdraw consent to processing. These rights may be limited in some circumstances by applicable law.
